Alliance for Quality Construction’s 12th annual Q Awards banquet honoring Emerson College Los Angeles. The new facility will house more than 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art classroom facilities, production and performance studios, outdoor event spaces, a Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound audio post-production suite, and much more. Emerson College Los Angeles was built by general contractor Hathaway Dinwiddie, was 100% accident free and is Gold LEED certified.

The Q Award recognizes project owners that build their projects the right way. Criteria used to judge projects include:

Exhibits quality craftsmanship
Built with union labor
Excellent labor-management relations
Maintained an exemplary safety record
Proficient use of apprentices
Located in Los Angeles or Orange counties

Some prior Q Award recipients include Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation of California for the RedBuilding at the Pacific Design Center, AEG for Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, and the County of Los Angeles for the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
